Commissioned by friends of Lucian Freud in an attempt to locate Freud’s portrait of Francis Bacon before the artist’s death. The painting was stolen from the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin in 1988. Despite the effort, the painting's whereabouts remain unknown.
